About me

A life of discovery, rooted in neurodiversity
Hello, my name is Marcus.

My self-discovery journey has been one of deep transformation — a process of learning, unlearning, and embracing the parts of me that the world didn’t always understand. One of the most important discoveries came in mid-life, when I was diagnosed as neurodivergent. That moment did not change who I was, but it helped me understand why I had always experienced the world differently — and how that difference was also my strength.

Sharing my own journey helps you understand how I coach. I don’t offer abstract theories or focus on broad generalizations. As a coach, I offer deep listening and presence allied with probing questioning to help you open up your world. As a neurodivergent person, I offer insight, lived experience, and the empathy of ‘one who has been there’. This is what allows me to help others find clarity, self-trust, and the courage to thrive in their way.

A multicultural path

I am Anglo-Portuguese and currently live in Kraków, Poland. I’m married, have two teenage children, and divide my time between Kraków, London, and northern Portugal. Growing up in Portugal, with strong ties to the UK, I was always immersed in multiculturalism. This ignited a passion for human complexity and global experience that continues to shape my coaching.

After my studies, I worked in Portugal, then moved to London and began a career with a large multinational corporation. That role became a gateway to the world — I’ve now lived in 8 countries across 4 continents and gained deep insight into working and living across cultures. I spent 25 years in corporate life, leading in Finance, Human Resources and business transformation in fast-moving industries.

I thrived in many ways — but something was missing.

Embracing my neurodivergence

By 2019, I realized I had given much to my career, but I had been giving too little to myself. I was living at an unsustainable pace, adapting constantly, masking my inner reality to meet expectations I didn’t fully resonate with. The diagnosis of neurodivergence, in my case what was at the time called ‘high-functioning autism’ was not limiting — it was liberating.

It explained my intense focus, my constant need for structure, my hypersensitivity to sensory stimulation, and my struggle with social interactions. It also explained the depth of my empathy, my emotional honesty, and my powerful drive to help others.

From there, my life began to shift. I left the corporate world and committed to a new path — one where I could live, work, and thrive on my own terms.

Yoga and meditation helped me regulate energy and deepen self-connection. Coaching others brought joy and meaning. Slowing down taught me I could actually achieve more by doing less. And most importantly: I stopped trying to be someone I wasn’t. I began to thrive my way — and I now help others achieve the same.

How neurodivergence
shapes my coaching

hether I work with individuals or organizations, my approach is informed by lived experience. I understand what it’s like to navigate systems not built for your brain. I also understand the immense potential that emerges when people are met where they are, rather than where others expect them to be.

My coaching supports neurodivergent people in building self-awareness, self-trust, and a life that aligns with who they are. I also help organizations build cultures where neurodiversity is seen not as an inclusion trend, but as a source of talent, creativity, and depth — where all employees are encouraged to thrive their way.

What you can expect from me

  • Non-judgmental

There is no “wrong way” to be yourself.

  • Questioning

I ask questions that open doors — not push directions.

  • Accepting silence

Not every moment needs to be filled. Sometimes, presence is enough.

  • Action-driven

You won’t leave with a script. You’ll leave with insight — and steps
    which you will outline yourself.
